Owen had the great pleasure of making his first 2 model rockets. Then over the weekend the pack went out to scout camp and launched them off.

The pack camped out both Friday and Saturday but because of weather and the Browns game we stayed home and only went off for the day.
First the prep – easy with one – and handful with the full pack…
And then the launching…
Yes somehow I ended up helping launch the rockets

We launched Owen’s Gold rocket 3 time. The first with a small engine and it went great. The second launch with a much better engine sent the rocket higher than anybody else. The parachute failed and the rocket came back down very close to the launch pad. For the third launch we did the big engine…this time the parachute worked and the rocket drifted off never to be seen again. 
After the launch we went on a hike.

…Right up the point when we got home and discovered she must have been playing in poison ivy all day. Yep, covered head to toe.
We all had a great time.
